Beautiful! Art by Cleaning

In April this year, graffiti artist Paul “Moose” Curtis and his crew set to work on the side of the Broadway tunnel (at Broadway and Larkin). They made a 140 foot-long mural depicting native plants they imagine we could have found on the site 500 years ago.

Instead of using paint to create the mural, though, they used water and an eco-friendly cleanser. Yes, water! They created stencils and then power-washed away the grime left by 20,000 cars a day. The effect is amazing.
